ArmadilloCon 5 was held in Austin, Texas, during October 7–9, 1983, at the Villa Capri Motor Hotel. The GoH was Howard Waldrop, and the Fan GoH was Becky Matthews. The toastmaster was Neal Barrett, Jr., and it was chaired by Ed Scarborough.
