Adrienne Martine Barnes nee Hicks was a writer and costumer. In 1979 she attempted to start Costume-Mania, a costuming weekend which was unsuccessful, but was an inspiration for Costume-Con. Besides who own novels, she collaborated with Marion Zimmer Bradley and Diana Paxson. She was a member of Almack's Society for Heyer Criticism.
