Shoestringcon 1: Polycon 79 was held at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield, UK in Autumn 1979. The GoHs were Ken Bulmer and Mat Irvine (a Dr. Who & Blake's 7 BBC special effects model maker). It was chaired by John Watkinson.
