Mark (Plummer), re the https://fancyclopedia.org/index.php?title=British_Fantasy_Library_membership_1947-1949&curid=72499&diff=202052&oldid=201694 edit and its summary:

  1. As surely you know, Bob, consistency is the hobgoglin… While some regularity in oft-repeated matters is certainly desirable (like, the use of italics, or bold), each more complicated case has a special circumstances of its own. Hardly anybody is going to compare the formatting of lists elsewhere, let alone complain.
  2. In general, I am very much in favour of ordering any list over, say, five items. For one thing, you can see at a glance how many there are altogether, numbered automagically, not like when I had to count the asterisks (and hope that any edit won't change that), and how far down the list anything is. Yes, it might be problematic or confusing with other lists which also include membership numbers (unlike Wikipedia, Fancy does not have the "sortable tables" by several criteria); but not here.

Also, I presume it should not say that list is "likely very incomplete" but just "very likely incomplete", right? --JVjr (talk) 14:15, 22 July 2024 (PDT)
