Talk:Earl Kay
This is difficult to research; the fannish record clearly shows he was reported alive and well in early 1945, which seems to eliminate Earl McKinley Kay (March 12, 1923–December 25, 1944), even though he was also born in Virginia. But I haven't seen any official records of an Earl Kay who died in 1945. It's possible this was a pseudonym, I suppose; if he had legally been named something like Joseph Earl Krankheit, we wouldn't find those records too easily. It was a long shot anyway: Orville Kerkow had an older brother Earl who might have preferred to use his last initial spelled out, but he survived his service in the Army.
And there were two sisters in the Kay family listed in the 1942 Fargo directory, but they appear to have been unrelated to anyone named Earl.
Just noting these apparent dead-ends to save anyone else, including Future Bee, the trouble. Bee Ostrowsky (talk) 11:53, 6 January 2024 (PST)
