A bid to host the 2028 Worldcon in Kampala, Uganda, Central Africa, as Kampcon, announced in early August 2022 and chaired by Kabunga Micheal.[1]

- ↑ It is common in Uganda to state family name first, followed by given name, somewhat like in Hungary (not to mention China); see for example 2019 newspaper essay. This led to some confusion on the bid website and related publicity where both forms may be used without making the context clear – for example the quoted con committee list in File 770 is (with an exception or two) surname-first, even as the editorial parts of the article mention the chair as "Micheal Kabunga". There have also been misspellings "Michael".
