(1957 --)

British fan active primarily between 1981 and 1984. He was a member of the BSFG (Brum Group) from 1981 to 1984. He was a co-founder of MiSFiTs along with Martin Tudor and Steve Green, adopting lifelong title of "Chief Big Eg".

His first contact with fandom was when a work colleague persuaded him to attend a Brum Group meeting. His first contact with the world of fanzines occurred when he bought a copy of FoRTH Group's groupzine at Novacon 10 and one of the group tracked down the strange person who'd actually paid for their zine.. His first con was Novacon 6. He was on the committee for Novacon 13 and Novacon 14. He was early co-opted into Peter Weston's plot for what became 1987 Worldcon. "Survival instincts led to early dropout before bid committee was formed."
