John Ridley IV (born 1965) was born in Milwaukee, WI and raised in the nearby suburb of Mequon, WI. He is chiefly remembered for his Oscar-winning film "12 Years A Slave" (2013). But for science fiction, he is best known for his limited-release film "Needle In A Timestack" (2021), which was based on a short story by Robert Silverberg.
