A fanzine published by Bill Donaho, named after his cat. (The cat was possibly named for the Hebrew prophet; the first issue opened with an epigraph from Hab 2:15.) Donaho published Habakkuk in three distinct phases which he called "chapters" and issues in each a "verse".

The "Chapter 1" started as a letter-substitute and consisted of six issues between February 1960 and July 1961, the first four even within five successive months; the next two followed in roughly half-year intervals, perhaps also because they grew over 100 pages. Originally, the term "chapter" seems meant for "volume/year": the chapter/verse notation was used on the cover of first 5 issues published all in 1960, while the 1961 one became merely "Habakkuk 6", with no mention of "verse" anywhere. However, a new Chapter offered itself naturally when Donaho relaunched Habakkuk after the first hiatus, as a FAPAzine with three issues between May 1966 and February 1967. The third "chapter" saw four issues between September 1992 and late 1994.

Habakkuk was nominated for the Hugo towards the end of each chapter: the 1961 Best Fanzine Hugo, the 1967 Best Fanzine Hugo, and the 1995 Best Fanzine Hugo. It was also voted #1 Fanzine in the Fanac Poll for 1960 (see writeup by Terry Carr).
