Nonsonance[edit]

A note on FB from Blind Lemming Chiffon, organizer of the Festival of the Living Rooms, on March 2, 2021, regarding the naming of Nonsonance:

No one asked, but to clarify the name:

This is the first anniversary of the first Festival of the Living Rooms. Which came about right at the beginning of covid restrictions. Consonance was cancelled. I wanted to fill the emptiness somehow, and planned to do a live facebook concert during the empty weekend. Summer Loraine Russell was also planning the same thing, and I said, let’s plan this so we’re at different times and I can see your concert.

And a festival somehow grew out of that. There was a vacuum, and it needed filling.

The first festival featured concerts on Facebook. With Bob Kanefsky’s guidance, the open circles were on Zoom. We had no clue about “original sound.” The Zoom quality was thus kind of ... well, we mostly all know about “original sound” now, and they even have it on the phone apps...

Bob came up with the name “Nonsonance,” and people were calling it that.

So this is kind of the second “Nonsonance.” But it isn’t called “Nonsonance 2,” because the first “Nonsonance” was officially called “Festival of the Living Rooms,” and while Consonance participated and helped, the affiliation just happened organically, and wasn’t “official,” or some such thing.

...

And in case anyone wants to know, this is also FOTLR #7.
