(March 7, 1905 - April 7, 1966)

Basil Davenport was a literary critic, United States academic, anthologist, and author of SF novels. He served as a judge for the International Fantasy Award, attended Chicon III and contributed to Who Killed Science Fiction?.

He was a member of the Hydra Club. He also belonged to the Baker Street Irregulars literary society.
