FilKONtario is a convention in the Mississauga, Ontario area, Canada, dedicated to filk, the music of SF/fantasy fandom.
"Filk Waif" is a term honoring the first waif, Mary Ellen Wessels, whom two of the concom members brought to FilKONtario at their expense because she couldn't afford it.
Having been done once, it became a Tradition to bring someone to the convention each year.
