Alicia Austin

(1942 --)

Alicia Austin is a SF and fantasy artist and illustrator. She works in print-making, pastels, and watercolors. She was GoH at ConFrancisco, the 1993 Worldcon.

Austin was born in Providence, Kentucky. As her father was career military, she and her two siblings grew up in Germany and Japan, as well as the United States. She studied art and biology at the University of Houston, Texas, and has since worked in both Canada and the United States.

She has illustrated books by Robert E. Howard, C. L. Moore, Andre Norton, Harold Lamb, Poul Anderson, Lewis Shiner, and Ursula K. Le Guin; and she has done illustrations for Amazing, Destinies, and Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine.

A collection of her work, Alicia Austin's Age of Dreams, was published by Donald M. Grant, Publisher, in 1978..

She moved to Los Angeles in 1970, where she lived with John and Bjo Trimble for several years.

She was one of the editors of Kevas and Trillium.
