Don Day, a fan active in the 1940s and '50s, was editor of the focal point zine The Fanscient (and also the parody, Fan-Scent), a member of the Portland Science-Fantasy Society, and perhaps the greatest of the early bibliographers of sf publishing bibliographies in The Fanscient and also publishing the "Day Index", the Index to the Science Fiction Magazines 1926-1950
He ran Perri Press, a small press which produced The Fanscient, the Index of Science Fiction Magazines 1926 - 1948.
He chaired NorWesCon, the 1950 Worldcon, after the resignation of Jack de Courcy.
