Site selection for the 2022 Worldcon will be held at CoNZealand in 2020. Two bids filed by the deadline, Chicago in 2022 and Jeddicon. Chicago won by 517 votes to 33. A very late letter of concern about the Saudi Worldcon bid got some press coverage, but was criticised that its demand for WSFS to gate-keep unsuitable bids did not understand that all Worldcon members are WSFS members, there is no central committee that could act that way beyond the existing site selection process.
