(1949 --)

A British fan, author and journalist who currently lives in the West Midlands with his wife, SF author Anne Gay. His first convention was Loncon II in 1965.

With Jean Dempsey, David Griffiths, Ernest Harris, and Derek Stokes, he published the fanzines Stardock and Gothique.

He opened his own bookstore and for a time in the 70s was manager of the SF bookstore Dark They Were and Golden Eyed. He chairs The David Gemmell Awards For Fantasy.

He is the author of around 20 SF novels, but is best known for his Orcs: First Blood series.
