The [[MFS]] Silly Stories fit into several classifications of [[fan humor]]. They are said to have been composed back in the days of the [[First Transition]], when the [[MFS]] had virtually no contact with [[fandom]]; but when read at meetings they set the morons rolling on the floor with laughter. They are the source of such exciting words as [[fout]], [[nank]], and [[Twonk's disease]]. In [[1948]] when the club again became active and were visited by [[fans]] from Outside they found these tales still effective and confidently predicted a nationwide Era of the Silly Story, for confirmation of which you need but glance at your newspaper.
