Presented September 9, 1957 at Loncon.
This was the fourth year the Hugos were presented, and, while they had become a clear Tradition, the Loncon committee massively changed the categories, dropping the number from nine at NyCon II to four. Again there was no shortlist of nominations but there was a vote of the membership to select the winners. (See Early Hugo voting.)
- Best American Professional Magazine Hugo: Astounding Science Fiction ed. by John W. Campbell, Jr.
- Best British Professional Magazine Hugo: New Worlds ed. by John Carnell
- Best Fanzine Hugo: Science Fiction Times ed. by James V. Taurasi, Sr., Ray Van Houten and Frank R. Prieto, Jr.
