The NTL was an unusual Tolkien club run by Louis Epstein and headquarted in Carmel, NY. It offered tests for membership and had Tolkenic University which offered more difficult tests. They held an annual Tolkenic Conference and reckon those years from the birth of The Master (Tolkien). Fl. 1975-1985.
They published Frodo Fortnightly (originally named The Preliminary Journal of the National Tolkien League) and The N.T.L. Puzzlist.
