Alan Burns was a fan from Newcastle, UK active from the the 1950s through to the 1970s. He was a member of the North East Science Fiction Society and edited the first three issues of their clubzine, Gestalt.

Burns split from the group around 1958 and launched his own fanzine, Northlight. In the 1970s co-edited with Iseult with Lisa Conesa.

He was a member of Cytricon in 1955 and of several subsequent conventions.
