DeepSouthCon 9 / Pelicon was a convention held August 26–30, 1971, in New Orleans, LA. Membership was 105. It was chaired by John Guidry and Rick Norwood.
GoH: Poul Anderson, FGoH: Fred Patten.
Janie Lamb won the Rebel Award and R. A. Lafferty won the Phoenix Award.
The Southern Fandom Confederation was founded during this convention.
