According to SF historian Harry Warner, Eighth Fandom was in the 1950s, had as its leading fanzines Fanac, Cry, and Shaggy, Its geographic center was in Berkeley, CA, and its philosophy was FIJAGDH.
It followed Seventh Fandom and ended as Ninth Fandom emerged in the early 1960s.
