On Friday during the 2005 NASFiC CascadiaCon, Chaz Boston Baden filed the necessary paperwork to qualify San Jose, CA as a write-in bid for the 2007 NASFiC; his concept was for a 3-day "Relaxa-NASFiC" to be held the weekend before the 2007 Worldcon in Yokohama, Nippon 2007, with programming planned to be a Japanese culture tutorial / how-to in preparation for going to Japan the following week. However, the last-minute campaign did not succeed in overcoming the St. Louis in 2007 bid.
