Chaosium was founded in 1975 as The Chaosium by Greg Stafford, game designer and creator of the world of Glorantha and the Pendragon roleplaying game, among others. It has published numerous books about the H. P. Lovecraft universe.
In 1980 it was incorporated as Chaosium Inc.
