Alan Burns was a fan from Newcastle, UK active from the the 1950s through to the 1970s. He was a member of the North East Science Fiction Society and edited the first three issues of their clubzine, Gestalt.

Burns split from the group around 1958 and launched his own fanzine, Northlight.

He was a member of Cytricon in 1955.
