Derek Pickles was a UK fan from Bradford active in the 1950s and again the 1990s. He published the fanzine Phantasmagoria from 1950 through 1955, with his sister, Mavis Pickles, and brother-in-law, Stan Thomas. They are credited with first spelling out 'The Usual', which indicates a fanzine is available for trade, contribution, or LOC.

He attended the Festivention in 1951 and organised the NECON later that year. He member of the British Fantasy Library (BFL), and a founder of the Bradford Science Fiction Association. In the early 1950s, he was the British representative for the National Fantasy Fan Federation (N3F). He ran for TAFF in 1954.

He gafiated in 1956 following cancer treatment, but returned to fandom in the 1990s, with letters in fanzines such as Banana Wings and Trap Door. He attended Corflu 15 in Leeds in 1998.

He was married to Marjorie Pickles and his sister was Mavis Pickles.
