A Westercon bid run by Dwain Kaiser, Neal Clark Reynolds and Jim Schumacher (who lived in the Pomona and Upland area in California) to hold the 1968 Westercon in Las Vegas. They lost to Bay Area in '68 and the 1968 Westercon was Baycon, held jointly with the 1968 Worldcon. See 1968 Westercon Site Selection.
