MASSFILC is a 501(c)(3) corporation, based in Massachusetts, created to promote filk music. It was originally called M.A.S.S. F.I.L.C., but the name was changed in 2010 to be less confusing to the state. It sponsors the ConCertino convention, has published filk books, and occasionally helps local conventions with filk programming.

The organization was founded in 1992 to provide a formal organization behind the first ConCertino. J. Spencer Love provided leadership, and Ellen Kranzer contributed expertise in the details of organizing of 501(c)(3) club in Massachusetts. Originally the name unofficially stood for "Massachusetts Association of Silly Singers Fannishly Inflicting Lyrical Chaos," but officially and in practice it stands for nothing but itself.

Meetings are held monthly, generally in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. During the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings have been held online.

Website

Club 1992
This is a club page. Please extend it by adding information about when and where the club met, when and by whom it was founded, how long it was active, notable accomplishments, well-known members, clubzines, any conventions it ran, external links to the club's website, other club pages, etc.

When there's a floreat (Fl.), this indicates the time or times for which we have found evidence that the club existed. This is probably not going to represent the club's full lifetime, so please update it if you can!
