FilKONtario 8 was a filk convention held April 17-19, 1998 at the Travelodge Hotel, Toronto East in Toronto. The GoH was Heather Alexander, the Official Filk Waif was John Hall, and the Interfilk Guests were Juliane Honisch and Kerstin Dröge.
The subject of the songwriting contest was "A place you'd like to go" and it was chaired by Carolyn Brown & Peggi Warner-Lalonde. The Filk Hall of Fame inductees were Rafe Culpin, Cynthia McQuillin, and Erwin "Filthy Pierre" Strauss.
