Thomas Charles Louis “Tom” Holt is a British author known for his books that take mythic themes and reinterpret them humorously. He also writes as K. J. Parker. In 1997, he published the filk book Bitter Lemmings.

The son of novelist Hazel Holt, he was born in London and educated at Westminster School, Wadham College, Oxford, and The College of Law, London. He worked as a solicitor in Somerset for seven years before moving to full-time writing. He lives in Chard, Somerset, with his wife and daughter.
