That's all that's easy to find about his mundane life. I see him in LASFS stuff, and he appeared to be trying to compile a bibliographic index. [[User:Bee Ostrowsky|Bee Ostrowsky]] ([[User talk:Bee Ostrowsky|talk]]) 09:47, 4 January 2024 (PST)

From 1950 Fan Directory:

Name: BRATTON, Donald Warren
Address: 14302 Miranda St., Van Nuys [California]
Phone: ST 01978
Sex: M
Birthdate: May 3, 1926
Fan Organizations: FF, FAPA

From Find a Grave:

BIRTH: 3 May 1926, California, USA
DEATH: 10 Feb 1985 (aged 58), Ventura County, California, USA
BURIAL: Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura, Ventura County, California, USA
PLOT: Section K Lot 503 Grave 11

1930 census shows him with his mother and father in Beverly Hills; 1940 on Sunset Blvd with them. There's a D. W. Bratton in the 1947 Caltech yearbook, and in the 1950 census he appears to have been attending UChicago, as he was living in a dorm at 6208 S Drexel Ave, very close to the present-day (and maybe back then, too) UChicago Law School campus. He appears in a 1973 city directory for Oxnard, Ventura County.

Not to be confused with Donald William Bratton, who was born in Ohio.

He died at the Hickory House home for the aged in his 50s, which makes me suspect he had some sort of cognitive or mobility issues later in life.

That's all that's easy to find about his mundane life. I see him in LASFS stuff, and he appeared to be trying to compile a bibliographic index. Bee Ostrowsky (talk) 09:47, 4 January 2024 (PST)
