A traveling convention is a convention that is held at a different location each year. The site is often selected by vote of members of the con, usually one or two years in advance, sometimes by a parent organization. Noteworthy traveling cons include -
- the World Science Fiction Convention (selected by members, two years in advance)
- the World Fantasy Convention (selected by a board of directors, two years in advance)
- Westercon (selected by members, two years in advance)
- DeepSouthCon (selected by members, two years in advance)
- Mythcon (selected by the board of directors of the Mythopoeic Society, three years in advance)
- Eastercon (selected by members, hopefully two years in advance)
