Bouchercon, the Anthony Boucher Memorial World Mystery conventions, is an annual convention of creators and fans of mystery and detective fiction, founded in 1970. They are now (stuffily) called the World Mystery Convention.
Bouchercon was named in honor of critic/writer/editor Anthony Boucher, the principal pseudonym used by William Anthony Parker White, SF editor and mystery writer.
Bouchercon is very much a spinoff of SF fandom, with con-running fans such as Bruce Pelz, Len Moffatt, and June Moffatt being its founders.
