See club house.
From Fancyclopedia 2, ca. 1959 |
Some fans hold their club meetings in varying locations -- circulating among the homes of members, for instance -- and others at some regular location which is considered a "club room", but the LASFS at various times in its history has actually had a clubroom in the sense of a room rented for the club's exclusive use. There mimeos and typers were available for the members to use. The club library of fanzines, proz, and books was there, and even a cot for anyone working so late as to find it inconvenient to go home. Not only on meeting nights but at other times members could come in to work on publications, read, or talk. |

The PSFS had plans to rent an apartment in which to store club property, and in which one of the members would live, but this didn't materialize. The LASFS, however, did acquire a clubroom. Mimeos and typewriters are available for the members to use. The Club library of fanzines, pros, and books is there. A cot is available for anyone who may be working so late as to find it inconvenient to go home. Not only on meeting nites, but at any time, members come in to work on publications, read, or talk. |
