James Russell "Russ" Whitman was an American fan from Colorado who published the fanzine Janus with Paul Spencer.
Whitman and Spencer produced the second issue of Janus (Winter 1945) from Calcutta, India, where Spencer was stationed and Whitman was on furlough.
