1930 census shows him with his mother and father in Beverly Hills; 1940 on Sunset Blvd with them. There's a D. W. Bratton in the 1947 Caltech yearbook, and in the 1950 census he appears to have been attending UChicago, as he was living in a dorm at 6208 S Drexel Ave, very close to the present-day (and maybe back then, too) UChicago Law School campus. He appears in a 1973 city directory for Oxnard, Ventura County.
Not to be confused with Donald William Bratton, who was born in Ohio.
He died at the Hickory House home for the aged in his 50s, which makes me suspect he had some sort of cognitive or mobility issues later in life.
