Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina, located on its border with South Carolina. Home to ConCarolinas, the Charlotte Science Fiction Society and the Carolina SF Society.
It has hosted three DeepSouthCons, SECon II and an Agacon and mounted valiant but unsuccessful bids for Worldcon (Charlotte in 2004) and NASFiC (Charlotte in 2005).
Charlotte-based faneds have included Edward R. Smith.
