A British SF writer and critic. His work includes the Viriconium sequence of novel. His first short story was published in 1966 in Science Fantasy magazine and became part of Michael Moorcock's New Worlds group of basically New Wave writers and became New Worlds' literary editor. His first novel was in 1971.
