Until late June 2022, there were no bidders until Utah in 2024 announced a write-in bid for Westercon 76 to be held in Salt Lake City, UT. Because no bids had filed as of the filing deadline, the ballot for Westercon 76 was blank and all votes were write-ins.
Technically, the Utah in 2024 bid did not meet all criteria for filing, which is required even of write-in bid, so site selection was carried out by the Westercon Business Meeting which voted. Utah in 2024 received 55 of 60 vote (the remainder were 2 for No Preference and 3 just anti-Utah) and will run Westercon 76.
