Minicon 31 (including FanHistoriCon 5) was a convention held April 5 - 7, 1996 at the Radisson South in Bloomington, MN. Guests of Honor: Suzette Haden Elgin, Joe Siclari & Edie Stern, David Ossman, and Ed Emshwiller (posthumous).
There was a display of Ed Emshwiller's artwork put on by Alex Eisenstein, Phyllis Eisenstein, Greg Ketter, and Scott Imes. Attendance was 3564, there were 3619 total members with 2957 pre-registered. The theme/motto of the convention was "Coming to a Galaxy Near You."
