David Mark Weber is an American SF and fantasy author. He has written several SF and fantasy books series, the best known of which is the Honor Harrington series. he and his wife Sharon live in Greenville, South Carolina, with their three children.

Weber's first novel, which he worked on with Steve White, sold in 1989 to Baen Books, which has since remained his major publisher. His best-known series is the Honor Harrington series loosely based on Horation Hornblower and the Napoleonic Wars. The series has inspired the Royal Manticoran Navy, a series of fan clubs.
