MidSouthCon 17 was originally scheduled to be held Mar 20-22 1998 at the Grand Veranda Hotel in Robinsonville MS. It was cancelled shortly before the convention due to a dispute with the hotel.
It was rescheduled for the following year on March 26–28, 1999, at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Memphis, TN. The GoHs were the same as for the cancelled convention the previous year: GoH: James P. Hogan. AGoH: Joy Marie Ledet. FGoH: Cullen Johnson.
It was chaired by Sylvia Cox and attendance was about 345.
