When the license to use the ''[[Weird Tales]]'' name was terminated with the Spring 1994 issue, the magazine took the new title of ''Worlds of Fantasy & Horror'', retaining the same format as the 1988-1994 version of ''[[Weird Tales]]''.

The magazine kept the new title for four issues: Summer 1994, Spring 1995, and Summer and Winter, 1996.
