Portland Society of Strangers

A club in Portland, OR. Its clubzines were Strange, PUNS, and The Can Opener.

The Portland Society of Strangers staffed a barricade during the 1970 student strike at Portland State University, as noted in Remembering the Portland State University Strike of 1970, p.1, last sentence in section headed "Fort Tricia Nixon."

The Portland Society of Strangers put on a series of conventions called Norwestercon, ca. 1970-1973.

An early reference to the Society of Strangers was published in Egoboo 11, 1970, pp. 19-20

Fl. 1969-74.

Members included Dian Zaharakis and Mike Zaharakis.
