The Horror Writers Association (HWA) is an association of writers and publishing professionals around the world, dedicated to promoting dark literature and the interests of those who write it.

HWA was formed, as Horror Writers of America, in the late 1980s with the help of many of the field's greats, including Dean Koontz, Robert McCammon, and Joe Lansdale. Today it has over 600 members around the globe.

HWA sponsors StokerCon where it presents the Bram Stoker Award for superior achievement in horror literature. In addition, HWA presents an annual Bram Stoker Award For Lifetime Achievement to a living person who has made significant contributions to dark literature over the course of a lifetime.

Club
This is a club page. Please extend it by adding information about when and where the club met, when and by whom it was founded, how long it was active, notable accomplishments, well-known members, clubzines, any conventions it ran, external links to the club's website, other club pages, etc.

When there's a floreat (Fl.), this indicates the time or times for which we have found evidence that the club existed. This is probably not going to represent the club's full lifetime, so please update it if you can!
