HELIOsphere 2020
HELIOsphere 2020 was a convention scheduled to be held April 3-5, 2020 at the Doubletree Tarrytown in Tarrytown, NY. It was cancelled due to the Covid-19 epidemic. The GoH was Peter David and the Featured Artist was Kathleen O'Shea David.
On very short notice (2 weeks) the HELIOsphere committee put together a virtual convention, entitled HELIOsphere - Beyond the Corona (A Virtual Event), with filk, panels, demos, and workshops. Many of the guests who had previously confirmed they would have attended participated in this virtual program. The virtual program made heavy use of the Zoom platform.
The chair was Liz Crefin, working with a committee that was largely the same as that of HELIOsphere 2019. Instrumental in putting together the replacement virtual convention were Liz, Catelynn Cunningham, Gabby Morel, and Marc Grossman.
Meanwhile, Peter David and Kathleen O'Shea David confirmed that they would join the GoH lineup for HELIOsphere 2021.
