Dwight Vreeland Swain, born in Rochester, Michigan, was an American SF author.
His first published SF story was "Henry Horn's Super Solvent," which appeared in Fantastic Adventures in 1941. He also wrote mystery, western, and action adventure stories for a variety of pulp magazines. He sometimes used the pen name of Clark South. His first published SF book was The Transposed Man (1955), which appeared as Ace Double D-113, bound dos-à-dos with J. T. McIntosh's One in Three Hundred.
Many of his SF stories were published in Imagination and its companion magazine Imaginative Tales, both edited by William L. Hamling.
