Irish author Abraham Stoker is best known for his 1897 Gothic horror novel, Dracula. Dracula is the seminal vampire novel. Written in epistolary form, it introduced the character of Count Dracula, and established many conventions of subsequent vampire fantasy.
The Bram Stoker Award is named for him.
