Stephen Tall

Stephen Tall was one of the pseudonyms used by biology professor Compton Crook (1908-1981), who began writing SF in the 1950s.

Stephen Tall was the pen name Crook usually used when he wrote SF.

Tall is known primarily today for his "Stardust" series of stories.

The Compton Crook/Stephen Tall Memorial Award for best first SF novel in the field of science fiction, fantasy, or horror was established in 1983 and is presented annually by the members of the Baltimore Science Fiction Society.
