(November 23, 1914 – November 22, 1997)

Mario Racic, Jr., was a New York fan who discovered sf in 1931 with Wonder Stories Quarterly. Around 1936, he was about to join the ISA just as it broke up. He joined the Queens SFL and was an active member. (He was one of the fellows who tried to throw Dick Wilson and Dan Burford out of a meeting — only to get the whole meeting tossed out of the hall.) He was also a member of New Fandom.

He was a member of the committee for the First Worldcon in 1939. (His whole family attended in support.) In The Immortal Storm, Sam Moskowitz called Racic “an important behind-the-scenes worker in fandom.”

He wrote the movie column in Fantasy-News.

In 1941, he married Frances Helen Sykora, Will Sykora's sister.
